The Ross Band of Class would like to wish you and your families a safe and Happy Holiday Season and a Happy New Year.
RMS 5th, 6th, & 7th/8th grade bands will perform on Thursday, December 10th beginning at 6:30pm. RHS Concert Band & Jazz Band will perform on Thursday, December 17th beginning at 7:00pm.
There is no admission fee for any of the concerts, but the High School Band is asking for all audience members to bring a canned good donation to the concert on December 17th. The band will donate the cans to Shared Harvest Food Bank.
Please note that all high school concert band members have a uniform provided to them to wear for the concert-boys in black tuxedos & girls in black dresses. Boys will need to supply their own white tuxedo shirt, black dress shoes & black socks. Girls will need to supply their own black dress shoes & appropriate hosiery.
If you would like to view the December Newsletter please click on the link below: December 09' Newsletter
There is a correction to the calendar in the newsletter. Eli's Dine to Donate is on Tuesday, December 15th not Wednesday, December 16th.
Winter Concert is Dec. 17 @ 7:00 PM. There is no admission fee to theconcert but we would like to ask all audience members to bring a canned good donation as your admission price. We will donate the cans to Shared Harvest Bank.
All Students need to report no later than 6:30 pm.
All guys in Concert band need a white tuxedo shirt and black shoes/socks.
All girls in Concert band need black dress shoes and appropriate hosiery.
The rest of the uniform is provided by the band - and maintained by Mrs. B (thanks). Guys wear a black tuxedo and girls wear a long black concert dress.
Jazz Band members all need the same thing - white tux shirt, black pants, black shoes/socks.
Tux shirts are available from Skeffingtons at Northgate mall. Just a plain white tux shirt is what everyone needs.
Last but not least, if you need an inexpensive Christmas present for your band member - consider buying them a nice metronome. I like the BOSS DB-30. These are available at music stores or online.
Also - You can always talk to me about buying a new step-up instrument for your student. Nothing makes a student practice more than a new instrument - it is amazing!
Thanks
Mr. Roemer
